Installation Instructions
Step 1: Surface Prep
• Clean the taillights thoroughly with mild soap and water, then dry with a lint free cloth
• Use isopropyl alcohol to remove any grease, wax, or residue
• Recommended installation temperature is 50°F to 77°F for best adhesion
Dry Application Method
Step 2: Positioning
- Align the pre cut overlay with your Acura taillight
- Use small pieces of masking tape to hold it in place and test fit before applying
Step 3: Apply Overlay
- Peel the backing carefully without stretching the vinyl
- Apply from one side while smoothing it down with a squeegee or microfiber covered finger
- Press firmly to remove any air pockets
Step 4: Heat and Seal
- Gently warm the overlay with a heat gun or blow dryer to soften the film
- Work the edges and any curves for a tight finished look
- Smooth out any remaining bubbles with light pressure
Wet Application Method
Step 2: Make Application Fluid
• Mix a few drops of dish soap into a spray bottle of water
• Lightly mist both the taillight surface and adhesive side of the overlay
Step 3: Position Overlay
- Peel the backing and lightly spray the adhesive side
- Place the overlay onto the taillight and adjust as needed
Step 4: Apply and Set
- Use a squeegee to push water and air out from the center outward
- Continue smoothing until the overlay sits secure and flush
Step 5: Final Seal
- Let the overlay sit for 15 to 20 minutes
- Gently warm it to activate the adhesive and help finalize the bond
- Press down all edges for a clean finished install
